Have you lost your Halloween spirit?

Don’t lose your Halloween spirit!

Halloween is just over two weeks away and we’re starting to get that tingly excited feeling that we always do at this time of year. Crazy costumes, yummy treats, spooky decorations, scary stories and thrilling games. It’s all just too much to handle and we can’t contain our excitement!

Unfortunately, some pregnant women and new mothers don’t always share this same level of excitement, because the stress and fatigue they are experiencing due to pregnancy and motherhood has robbed them of their Halloween spirit. However, we at the-pregnacy.net don’t think it has to be that way. Being pregnant or a new mother doesn’t mean you have to lose your Halloween spirit, in fact it’s the perfect way to spice up your Halloween festivities this year!

If you’re pregnant, especially for the first time, you may be used to putting on a fun Halloween outfit that at times was quite tight and maybe a bit scandalous; then partying the night away at a friend’s house, a bar or a club. Now, we’re not saying you can do exactly the same thing this year, but there is absolutely no reason why you can’t dress up and go out for a bit fun. There are so many Halloween costumes for expectant mothers, their partners and the whole family that you really have an endless choice in the costume department. Party-wise, a night out at a friend’s house is probably the best idea. You don’t have to organise anything, you can leave when fatigue takes over, your bump won’t get “bumped” and most importantly it’s an opportunity to have a fun night out of the house, you must be sick of that place by now! If no one is planning a party, you could always subtly suggest it and if your due date is around the corner perhaps you could even have a Halloween-themed baby shower. There’s no end to all of the amazing things you could do this Halloween and you’ll be surprised by how many people will be willing to accommodate your pregnancy.

How cute are children’s Halloween costumes?

If you’ve already given birth and it’s your baby’s first Halloween, this year is only the beginning of a string of some amazing and incredibly adorable Halloweens to come. We know that the first year of your baby’s life can be exhausting, especially if your baby isn’t yet sleeping throughout the night, but Halloween can be an opportunity to have a little bit of much-needed fun. When it comes to costumes you will have no trouble finding a cute outfit for your new baby, but you’ll probably have trouble deciding which one is the cutest! You could even go one step further and dress up with your baby so that you’re a dynamic duo. Hey, why not get your partner involved too?

On Halloween night a great idea is to get dressed up, have a few friends and family members over and to just spend the night greeting your neighborhood trick-or-treaters. However, we’re sure you need a night off, so why not speak to a friend or family member or get a babysitter so you and your partner can go out to a Halloween party together. We suggest looking for a party that doesn’t fall on October 31st, because not only will it be easier to find a babysitter, but you’re also not going to want to miss the opportunity to dress up your baby on the actual day.

So as you can see, just because you’re pregnant or a new mother it doesn’t mean you have to skip Halloween this year. We plan to post even more fun and exciting ideas over the next two weeks so keep your eye on this space and you never know this Halloween may just be the best one of your life!
