Packing your hospital bag
When you go into labour things can get a bit crazy, but there is a lot you can do beforehand to prepare yourself and make it all a bit easier on the day. One of these things is packing your hospital bag so that it is ready by week 36 of your pregnancy. You never know your baby may arrive early!
Even if you are planning a homebirth, we recommend packing a hospital bag just in case. Birth and labour can be accompanied by a wide range of surprises, so it’s always a good idea to prepared for all of them. We also suggest storing your hospital bag either in your car or right next to your door so that you don’t forget it. We really aren’t exaggerating when we say labour gets crazy.
Finally, always avoid packing items of value (monetary or sentimental), because things get lost or damaged very easily in any hospital or birthing centre.
