No, don’t freak out it is totally normal not to feel yourself during pregnancy!
Every woman goes through a mixture of emotions, feels and mood swings during pregnancy. It may feel like you are the only one going through them – but trust me you’re not, it is completely normal! Everyone is different, some women find that they are experiencing a rollercoaster throughout the 40 weeks, whereas others aren’t affected as badly.
The reason why you are feeling different and more irritated than usual is because your pregnancy hormones are affecting your chemical messengers in your brain. Some of you may be experiencing a pregnancy high – this is when you are energetic and generally just loving life! These are emotions that most women wish to encounter. However, the reality is that your going to be feeling up and down throughout all 40 weeks.
You may not even realise how much your moods have changed, but others around you have probably questioned it. Your emotions heighten throughout pregnancy and you may find yourself feeling unattractive, irritable, depressed and anxious. You just need to remember that pregnancy is a beautiful thing- you are carrying a baby! So try not to let your negative thoughts take over. The best solution is to think positive and work at relaxing and exercise is a perfect solution! If you are thinking – What excercise, really?! Yes really, there is a very good chance that you are not feeling up to it, but trust me there are far more benefits to it than you know! Don’t worry you don’t have to do any hardcore exercises, choose something like swimming or yoga as they will help you relax and they aren’t too strenuous!
If you haven’t experienced any random outbursts of emotions just be warned they may soon happen! Bursting into tears because you forgot something, while watching Eastenders or when your partner buys you the wrong kind of chocolates, it’s all normal! And once your pregnancy is over your hormones will balance out.
