Staying hydrated: drinks
Firstly you need to make sure that you are drinking your 8 glasses of water a day! If you find that you constantly need to go to the bathroom during the night, then schedule when you are going to drink water. After all, it’s a hassle to keep getting out of bed, especially with your bump! So don’t drink water for at least an hour before bed, but do make sure that you have a nice, tall glass as soon as you wake up, because you need to keep hydrated.
A great way to keep hydrated and to get some important vitamins is to drink natural fruit juices. Store-brought juices can do the trick too, but just be careful there isn’t too much added sugar or preservatives in them, because if so they are even worse for you than soda. Remember, when it comes to nutrition natural is always better.
If you are trying to reduce your caffeine intake, opt for decaf coffee and tea, but a more natural hot drink is the healthier option. Hot water with a slice of lemon is a perfect morning drink, it works as a detox and is very settling for the stomach. If you want a little more flavour, there is alwyas a wide selection of herbal teas available which are great for your pregnancy diet.
